I have an older Dell computer with Windows XP, Version 2002, and only 38.7 GB of memory in the C drive. In trying to free up memory when I run Disk Cleanup, I often go to Advanced Options and delete all but the most recent Restore points. I could also "Remove optional Windows components that you do not use" and "Remove programs you do not use," but I'm afraid to do this, because I don't know what these programs are. IS IT SAFE TO LET THE DISK CLEANUP DECIDE THAT THESE PROGRAMS CAN BE REMOVED? I'm desperate for more Free Space.
