Unable to re-install Google Chrome

I am running Windows XP SP3

I kept getting a message that Google Chrome has encountered a problem and needs to close so I tried to repair it in Add/Remove programs but accidentally removed it.

I have tried to re-install it from Chrome website but it gets to the last few seconds of the download and says it has failed, restarts and keeps going round.

Can anyone help please?
