I have bought a couple of new 64GB pen drives and they work fine. Apart from one, which works fine in all but one laptop..
When I plug it in, I am told that the drive isn't formatted. "Do you want to format it?" As I just copied 60GBs of files to it, I don't, no! In any case, if I click 'yes' I am told that the drive cannot be formatted in any case. In my other PCs and laptop, I can open it in Explorer with no problem.
I Googled this, but I am no further on. The laptop which refuses to see the drive as formatted in a dual boot, XP 32-bit and XP 64-bit. It refuses in both. I uninstalled all my entries for USB at the bottom of Device Manager, but still nothing. And yet the same pen drive is fast and no trouble at all in other PCs, as I say, which are Windows 7 (x64) . Another Windows XP PC tells me it's not formatted too, so I guess it's an XP problem.
The second pen drive by the way (same make and type) has no such problems.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks,
Martin
