Solved: Can't access Safe Mode anymore?

Hey, everyone. I'm having an issue that happened so suddenly I don't know what to make of it. :(

Basically tonight I was in Safe Mode running all my typical monthly Malwarebytes/Superantispyware checks. I went to run RKill first, and it froze my computer (again, while in safe mode) I waited and couldn't get anything to respond. Had to shut off my computer and start it up again.

Well now when I press F8 to access Safe Mode again, instead I go straight to the black screen that usually follows after selecting Safe Mode. The black screen that says, "Please select the operating system to start: Windows XP Media Center Edition". And if I don't click it within in a couple seconds, it just selects it automatically and starts up. I've restarted and tried with the F8 several times, and it won't give me the option for Safe Mode anymore. What happened?

So far everything starts up normally *knocks on wood* but I'm confused why I'm no longer given the option for Safe Mode?

Also, if anyone is wondering why I go into Safe Mode to do my "clean up" with my malware/spyware cleaners, it's just basically because I find that everything runs faster, including RKill. In normal mode RKill is so slow it won't usually run or it freezes everything while trying to run. In Safe Mode none of these things happen. The computer is a fairly old model (2008 or so) so it's been running very slow and odd the last 6 months or so.

If anyone can give me any input on the Safe Mode issue and how I can get that to come back (if possible) I would be extremely grateful. :o
