I don't know what I have done, but my old XP has developed some serious problems - can't access "Search" or "Help and Support" functions, Opera's email client won't send messages (though SMTP configured properly), and, worst of all, I can't open the Restore Point function - just get a blank screen. When I go to System Volume Information, and open the "restore {long number}" folder I find a large number of RP numbered folders, all but the last two are in blue, but the last two numbered RP folders are in black - the last - RP1400 has 39 files in 3 folders and was created 4-6-13 (today), RP1399 has 122 files in 3 folders and was created yesterday 4-5-13. The next folder, RP 1398,(and all smaller numbers) are in blue, and from 1390 through 1398 have between 87 to 254 files in 1 to 3 folders, dated 3-30-13 thru 4-4-13. The folder numbered RP1395, created 4-3-13 is the one with 254 files in 1 folder and is the folder with the most files and the only one with just 1 folder.
I don't know how much, if any, of this information is relevant, but if anyone knows how I can "restore" my Restore Point function, I would appreciate the help. My only alternative is to try a repair install, which I had to do a few years ago, and which I do not look forward to repeating.
