Need Help with XP Search Parameters

I do a fair amount of file searching on my XP Home PC and I have this continual problem
  • When I initially bring up the search screen it's fine. I'm usually searching on one of my external hard drives for music, and if I enter a specific folder on the 'Look In' box (Pink Floyd) and I enter a song title in the 'all or part of the file name' (Echoes) it works perfectly
  • But if I then enter a different song title and perform another search it, more often than not, gives me a false negative
  • And when I then click on the arrow next to 'More Advanced Options' it tells me that I'm looking for an AAC Audio Book in the Type of File box. There's a little arrow inside of that box which allow me to seach for a different file type, but ANY file type is not an option. When I first initiate a search that box is empty. I seem to have no way to empty it again other than to close the search and start it over.
Anybody know how to fix this minor, but annoying problem?
