I've been having problems for Months. It started out, when I used a(FREE)email Service(w/Smileys, and about a Year ago, had to Use their Support Program, which turned out to be a NO-No!!! They installed 'and connected to my Computer', and the Real Problems started. Within Minutes, my Credit cards, were changing, their email Accounts, etc. Even though this Company, said they were done, disconnected. My mouse kept moving, still does, and Programs, kept changing. I, reported, and enrolled in ID Guard, which was Great; Reported to Sherriffs Department, and FTC, changed Credit Cards, thankfully no Monies lost. Just a huge amount of time.
I, Formatted, my three Disk, 'D', and 'E', were formatted NTFS, reinstalled XP Pro, Updated to SP3, and Norton Security Suite.
Now, a few Months ago, I started having Problems, noticed an 'All Users\Isolated File, which contained My Admininistrative Tools, Program Files, My Pictures(of my Children), etc. But the one, that worried me, was 28 pages of questionable Information. I Zipped it,and put it on 'E' Drive, Read Only, Hidden. My Norton started reporting Errors, or just shutting down. I contacted thier Support, they installed 'Logmein', said I had Registry Issues, and for $100.00, they would fix them. I declined, and again, formatted all
Drives, and reinstalled Xp Pro, etc. Norton Security Suite. I, then installed My New HP D110a Printer...everything worked fine, then...(I never leave my Computer on, check for updates, Virus Scan, usually twice a day...etc., I even unplug the Comcast Internet Cable, from my Router. I live at 5,000', in the High Sierras, CA., there is only two, nice families, within two blocks of me, in a miles range.
A couple weeks ago, I noticed, a Gateway Connection, along with my Wireless(Kindle), and Lan Connection. Also, My HP Printer, was a Mass Storage Device, w/ a Internet Files Transfer Connection.
I don't leave my Printer connected any more. There are huge amounts of Internet Activity. When I tried to report and ask for help from Microsoft...they answered, but, when I tried to reply-my Computer, was utterly stopped by 5-10, Internet Explorers being opened, several dumps, until I was shut down. I checked my Registry, and found a different program installed, which, Remotely, controls your Destop, and Programs...I never used it before. So I downloaded it,(reports said it was 'new', and Good. I have since removed it, I never got my 'Password.' I, then bought after reading about it - 'Warrior', and bought the Single License. It worked Fine, but when it found something and asked me what I wanted to do, I said 'Quarantine', but it replied, 'File can no longer be Found,probably removed by Rootkit', until around the 14th, I've forwarded the Regunlogs, and have received, Responses; until, the Program can't connect to the Internet, or 'C' Drive, because 'C', is a \\?\Global NTFS Volume;\\?\Gobal...Hidden Boot Volume. My DLink Adapter, first changed to a Linux Adapter, then, changed to Pseudo-Loopback...??? I ran Microsoft Baseline Security Analyszer 2, and found out that my Computer is not running Windows OS??? Found 'FEEDS' that referenced Changing Components to Linux, via 'TULIP', and other Programs.
'RESTRICT ANONYMOUS' check, SAID can only be performed on Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP??? 'SERVICES' CHECK= Worldwide Web Publishing- Running!!! Virual Dirrectories, and Virtual Web Sites. I reported to Greatis, and I really feel they are tring to help, but I can't acces 'C' Drive, to send them my OPERATING, operating system. And even though advised, they keep reporting my IP Address as a (BLACKLISTED ONE), not my real Comcast one. And, I have a Portback Orifice-2000-1C54321, Com Surrogate, I'm constantly checking any Program accessibility, which change constantly.
I was gone for 4 days this last week, I unplugged everything, and when I got back, 'Powered On'...Now Some Programs, were written in (looks like Russian), like the Months in (Adjust Date/Time),which doesn't work, anyway!!! The Isolated Folder, was back in 'All Users.' I can't 'Restore', so I just reinstalled Windows XP, again, but, now 'D', and 'E', are 'Access Denied.'
I HAVE DISK FOR sp1, sp2, AND sp3, BUT CAN'T FIND A 'VM' PROGRAM. Really, I'm Afraid to go further...What do you think? I never wanted, or intended to be a 'Server,' but, MS Updates, only shows, and installs them, so here I am.

P.S. I was going to attach that 'Isolated Folder', called 'siteinfo', but after reading yor Warning, it's available if you want. I'm using my Roomates Computer, downstairs so can't use the TSG SysInfo,yet.
